What is Financial Aid?

Financial aid is assistance that colleges and universities provide to help students and their families manage education costs. The amount of financial aid a student is eligible for depends on several factors:

  • Financial Situation: Financial need based on income and family resources.
  • Tuition Costs: The total cost of your program.
  • Academic Performance: Scholarship eligibility based on grades or achievements.
  • Year in School and Enrollment Status: Aid availability varies based on your progress and enrollment type (full-time or part-time).
Media

Types of Financial Aid

UCCI offers various types of financial aid, including scholarships, grants, and work-study opportunities. Financial aid options fall into two main categories.

Both scholarships and grants provide financial support without the requirement of repayment. However, students may need to maintain a specific GPA or meet other requirements to continue receiving these awards if they are renewable.

logo

Merit-Based Scholarships

Merit-based scholarships recognize students for outstanding achievements in academics, arts, and athletics. These scholarships reward high-performing students and do not consider financial need. Scholarships may have specific GPA or performance requirements for renewal each year.

logo

Needs-Based Scholarships

Needs-based scholarships are designed for students with financial need, determined by family income and financial limitations. These scholarships help reduce the financial burden of college and may require renewal applications each year.
