The University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI), in partnership with the Cayman Islands Bankers' Association (CIBA), will host a panel discussion titled "Women Leading in Banking & Finance" on Thursday, 26 March 2026, at 11:30 a.m. in the Cascade Room on the UCCI campus.

The event, held in celebration of Women's Month, will bring together five of the Cayman Islands' most senior female banking and finance leaders for an open conversation with UCCI students and high school students in Grades 10 to 12.

The panel will feature:

  • Amanda Bodden - SVP, Head of Retail Banking, Butterfield Bank; President, Cayman Islands Bankers' Association
  • Janet Hislop - President, Cayman National Bank Ltd.; Chief Executive Officer, Cayman National Corporation
  • Khadene Lobban, Area Vice President, Personal & Private Banking and Country Head, RBC Royal Bank (Cayman) Limited
  • Chervain Stuart - Director, Retail & Small Business Banking, Scotiabank
  • Samantha Fletcher-Watts- Chief Risk Officer, FundBank

UCCI’s Acting President and CEO, Ms. Nanalie Cover said the event reflects UCCI's core commitment to preparing students not only academically, but professionally.

“This event reflects UCCI’s enduring commitment to cultivating students who are not only academically accomplished, but also professionally prepared to navigate an increasingly dynamic global landscape,” said Acting President and CEO, Ms. Nanalie Cover.

She added, “By convening this panel, we are creating a meaningful platform for our students to engage directly with women who are shaping and advancing the banking sector. We also deeply value our sustained partnership with the Cayman Islands Bankers Association, whose collaboration continues to enrich opportunities such as this. It is our hope that students will depart not only inspired, but also more informed and empowered, with a clear understanding of the diverse pathways available to them here in the Cayman Islands.”

Ms. Amanda Bodden, the current president of CIBA, said the event highlights UCCI's longstanding partnership with CIBA and the Cayman Banking Certificate - a jointly developed programme that has built a strong pipeline of industry-ready graduates.

“The Cayman Islands Bankers’ Association greatly values our relationship with the University College of the Cayman Islands, a partnership that we have enjoyed for the last 15 years,” she said. “Our support of the Banking Certificate programme is a mutually beneficial arrangement: current and future Caymanian bankers are given the education and training needed to succeed in our thriving local banking industry. It is our hope that more students will express an interest in banking, and CIBA will continue to support UCCI in this important offering.”

The panel will include opening remarks from UCCI, a discussion moderated by a UCCI alumna Anya Rankin-Christian, and an audience Q&A session.
