Held under the theme "Inspiring Excellence, Transforming the Future," the ceremony will recognize students who have successfully completed certificate, diploma, associate, bachelor's, and postgraduate programmes across a wide range of academic disciplines.
The annual Commencement Ceremony is one of the most significant events in UCCI's academic calendar, marking the culmination of years of dedication, perseverance, and achievement. It is a proud occasion for graduates, their families, faculty, and supporters who have contributed to their educational journey.
This year's ceremony will be attended by members of the UCCI Board of Governors, senior university leadership, government officials, educators, community leaders, and distinguished guests, including Cabinet Ministers and Members of Parliament.
Since its establishment, UCCI's Commencement Ceremony has recognized generations of graduates who have gone on to make meaningful contributions to the Cayman Islands and beyond. The event reflects the University's commitment to academic excellence, workforce development, innovation, and nation-building.
"Commencement represents far more than the conferral of degrees; it is a celebration of excellence, resilience, and transformation. The Class of 2026 has distinguished itself through its commitment to academic achievement, personal growth, and service to others. As we gather under the theme, 'Inspiring Excellence, Transforming the Future,' we recognize that each graduate embodies the promise of a brighter future for our nation and our region.
At UCCI, we believe that education is a catalyst for innovation, leadership, and positive change. Today's graduates leave this institution not only with academic credentials, but with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to shape industries, strengthen communities, and contribute meaningfully to the continued advancement of the Cayman Islands and beyond. We are immensely proud of their accomplishments and look forward with confidence to the impact they will make as the next generation of leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, and changemakers," said Nanalie Cover, Acting President and Chief Executive Officer of the University College of the Cayman Islands.
The ceremony will feature remarks from United States District Judge Anne-Leigh Gaylord Moe, keynote speaker for the 2026 Commencement Ceremony, and the Hon. Rolston Anglin, JP, MP, Minister for Finance and Economic Development and Minister for Education and Training. Together, they will celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2026 while reflecting on the opportunities, challenges, and possibilities that lie ahead for UCCI's newest graduates.
Graduates from programmes in business, education, hospitality, nursing, information technology, science, public administration, and technical and vocational studies will be recognized during the ceremony, reflecting the breadth and diversity of UCCI's academic offerings.
As UCCI prepares to confer degrees and credentials upon the Class of 2026, the University extends its heartfelt congratulations to all graduates and looks forward to celebrating this important milestone with their families, friends, and supporters.
